Roghi is a high mountain village at an elevation of 2.754m (9,035ft) above the sea level, located in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Northern India, in the Indian Himalaya. Drive with care as this is a mountain road with dangerous dropoffs. The road to the town is considered to be one of the most dangerous roads in the world & definitely not for people who have vertigo.
The road to the town is mostly asphalted, with some gravel sections due the inclement weather. The route has humbled many egos. It’s not for the sissies and shouldn’t be attempted by novice drivers. Drivers must remain cautious as the journey has been known to claim the lives of careless drivers. The road to Roghi from Kalpa is a bit dangerous as there is a cliff, called Rolla Clif, which hugs one way road from Kalpa, crossing which seems impossible for many tourists. With drops that appear to be hundreds, if not a thousand feet to the side, experienced drivers are the only ones who should attempt this route. You might want to take this into consideration if you have passengers that don't like heights.
